The SOA’s 3rd Annual meeting was held in London in March 2020, hosted at St John’s Gate by our Patron, Surgeon Rear Admiral Lionel Jarvis, CBE DL KStJ.
The meeting was attended by over 60 supporters, with updates on the progress and activities both of the Eye Hospital Group, and of the Ophthalmic Association. which supports our postgraduate programs in the Middle East, and across the Orders’ Priories.
The evening began with a light reception and canapés at 1830, followed by addresses from our Patron, and the Chair of the Eye Hospital Group`(Sir Andrew Cash). There followed a short update on the Association’s activities, including our medical exchange program with the Swedish Order, the London Masterclass Series, the 2019 Hospital and History Summit in Jerusalem, and the 2021 SOA-Asia Pacific Congress in Singapore. Our work in North America and Africa was also discussed, and a summary of the activities of the new ‘iYouth’ group was given.
The presentations were followed by a formal dinner in the Gate’s magnificent Chapter Hall.
